Chris Jenner is the development manager for the FAB (France‐Alderney‐Britain) Link project.

The groundbreaking engineering feat involves the construction of a 220km underground electricity cable from the Cotentin Peninsula in Normandy, France to Budleigh Salterton, via the Channel Island of Alderney, with a nearby converter station near Exeter Airport.

Chris will talk about the project’s significant benefits for UK electrical consumers as well as for local people in East Devon as well as give an insight into the technical design involved in the project.

He will also explain how the project will enable the connection and integration of tidal generated energy planned for development in the waters around Alderney, which has the second largest tidal resource in North West Europe.

There is a limited number of Tickets and booking is required. A sum from ticket sales will be donated to Devon Community Foundation at the end of the autumn/winter term.
